Laura Rhodes

Welcome to the Rhodes House Homestead, nestled in the scenic countryside between Clifford and Piney River in Amherst County, Virginia!

We are Laura and Mark Rhodes, and at our one-acre abode, we strive to utilize every square foot to its fullest potential. Our days are filled with enriching the soil, maintaining the property, tending to our animals and garden, and being good stewards of all that has been entrusted to us by God.

Here, we sustainably grow and raise nutrient-dense vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers, just as nature intended. Our beloved cat and chickens play a vital role, acting as our natural rodent patrol, tillers and fertilizers, pest deterrents, while also providing us with affection, entertainment, companionship, and delicious and nutritious eggs.

From the bounty of our herb and flower gardens, we create beautiful dried floral home decor, available both locally and nationwide. We also incorporate our homegrown ingredients into a variety of products, including soothing teas, culinary herbal seasonings, luxurious bath and body items, and medicinal products. You can find many of these offerings at the Rockfish Gift Gallery in Afton, Virginia.

Our homegrown produce is shared within the community and offered for sale through the local Online Four Seasons Farmers Market. Additionally, we craft all-natural cuisine, fermented beverages, and teas, providing samples or selling them as ingredients for you to create your wholesome meals and drinks. We are committed to your health and well-being, using only ethically sourced ingredients in our baked and canned goods and delicious edibles.
